It’s time to start looking forward to Christmas.
Yes, the tiers are here until the New Year; yes, our Facebooks are beginning to fill up with elves on shelves; yes, we’ve forgotten what the inside of a pub looks like. All this is why the PCCU elves have been out and about finding a selection box of Christmas events for you and all the family to tuck into.
Gisburne Park Christmas Pop Up
The creators of Gisburne Park Pop Up, who this summer hosted the UK’s first socially distanced festival, are bringing festive cheer to 2020 with their action-packed pop up Christmas festival. This socially distanced Christmas extravaganza is taking place over Gisburne Park’s thousand-acre site, and will boast a large traditional outdoor market, a Santa’s Grotto and the UK’s largest drive-in pantomime. The event will run every weekend up until Christmas and there are plans to add on additional dates.
The cost of a ticket is £6 for adults and £3 for children to gain access to the event, with further charges for some of the other activities including the grotto and the pantomime. Full details can be found here.
Burnley HAPPA virtual events
Burnley charity HAPPA is hosting a number of festive online events in the run-up to Christmas. From wreath making to the ‘HAPPA Variety Christmas Show’, there’s a sleighful of activities to enjoy, and all from the comfort of your own home. The variety show will include festive singing and dance performances, a comedian, special appearances from the HAPPA horses and ponies and of course, Father Christmas.
Tickets for the show will be available from December 7th to December 17th. Click here for more details.
Pendleside Hospice Father Christmas Zoom call
It’s tougher than ever this year to get some face time with the big man. Thankfully, Pendleside Hospice has arranged a series of Zoom calls with Lapland HQ.
Taking place on December 12th and 13th, 10-minute chats with Father Christmas can be booked for a suggested donation of £5. To book your slot, give the hospice fundraising team a ring on 01282 440120 during office hours.
Mrs Dowson’s Christmas at the Farm
Tickets are still available for ‘Christmas at the Farm’ at Mrs Dowson’s in Blackburn. Families will be able to meet all their farmyard favourites before a trip to Santa’s Grotto and the Elves’ Workshop for the make-a-bear interactive experience.
Selected dates up until Christmas Eve. Book here.
Blackpool Illuminations
No year is complete without a trip to Blackpool’s world famous illuminations. The season was extended this year to run through Christmas and New Year for the first time in its history, but went dark at the start of the second lockdown in November. They have now been switched back on and will be running until January 3rd.
