Savings
Adult Savers
Anyone who wants to save, lives or works in Pendle and wants to be a part of the success of PCCU can join. Any member can take advantage of the savings and loans opportunities that PCCU offers.
Each member has within their own account the opportunity to make use of various sub accounts:
- Normal Share Savings
- Holiday and Christmas account
- Bill Paying account
Share savings is the term used because PCCU is owned by its members. So, in effect, all its members have shares in the Credit Union. The member’s money saved with PCCU is their own and can be withdrawn at any time if not linked to a loan.
Holiday, Christmas and Bill Paying are just various terms used for savings accounts. They can be used by members seeking to save for Holiday and/or Christmas or for bills that may come up every now and again. They do not need to be solely used for that reason. They are separate from each other and are not linked to loans.
All savings are covered by FREE life insurance, so that if in the event of your untimely death your shares would be covered and therefore doubled and given to the person(s) nominated on the members Form of Nomination (subject to rules).
To join call into one of out Collection Points along with:
- Two forms of ID which state your address and are dated in the last three months (Utility Bill / Bank Statement / Benefits Letter etc).
- Your National Insurance number.
- £1 one–off entrance fee.
- Some money to start your account.
Members can save as much or as little as they can afford as frequently as they wish. PCCU has two types of members, one for Junior Savers (which is up to the age of 16) and Adult Savers. All the members' savings will get a yearly dividend, more of which is on the Other Services page.
Junior Savers
PCCU is proud to have a healthy junior section. Many members or members of the public will open Junior Savers accounts for their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews etc.
Junior Savers’ are not allowed to have or apply for loans but will get a dividend paid upon the savings. Junior savings can be paid in by grandparents/parents/guardians etc. Junior Savers accounts can be opened by an adult at any Collection Point as listed on this website with a birth certificate.
